Club Captains for 2024/2025

For the first time in its 74-year history, Grasshoppers RFC has elected two joint captains of the 1st XV for the upcoming season.

Louis Brown and Conor Gilmore, have played rugby together at Grasshoppers RFC since their mini rugby days, progressing through the junior ranks to make their 1st XV debuts at 17.

Both players bring a wealth of experience to the role, with their complementary personalities. Louis tends to lead by example on the field, while Conor is the more vocal leader.

Louis (pic right) says of the co-captains role, "Conor and I go back 20 years, having played in the same age groups up to the seniors. We share the same philosophy on how the game should be played, and I look forward to working closely with Conor and the coaching team to maximise the squad's potential in what promises to be an exciting league this coming season."

Conor (pic left) agrees with Louis’ sentiments and adds, "It is great to see so many teams at level 6 looking to improve their squads. We are also looking to add more quality to our already strong squad. This makes for a challenging but exciting campaign, and we can’t wait to get started at pre-season training in July.”
