Grasshoppers Touch players at National Touch Rugby Finals
Sunday 9th August saw the UK National Touch Rugby Finals tournament being held at One Leisure in Cambridge.

In the U18 Mixed Touch Team tournament, three teams were showcasing their skills. The South of England Regional squad - The Southern Mavericks, had three Grasshoppers representatives - Lewis Graham, Tasman Hook and Celton De Brito-Lobato.

The triangular competition saw the Southern Mavericks pitched against the Midlands Cubs and Northern Stars. Although the Mavericks didn't lose a game all day, drawing all four matches, it wasn't quite enough to secure the National Trophy as the Midlands Cubs took the title on points difference.

Lewey Hook, who is part of the team that runs Grasshoppers O2 Touch, said: "it was a fantastic day and the three Grasshoppers U18s performed very well on this stage. The team as a whole played well together and the result was so close that we lost out purely on points difference."

The tournament showcases the best players in England from each region and is used as the selection pathway into the Open's, Senior's and Master's squads for the 2016 European Championships in Jersey.
