Grasshoppers work with Hounslow Rugby Development Group
With the Rugby World Cup less than six months away and the announcement that the London Borough of Hounslow has been awarded host borough status, Grasshoppers are working with the Hounslow Rugby Development Group to provide a rugby legacy in the borough.

The Hounslow Rugby Development Group is made up of representatives from the London Borough of Hounslow Physical Activity and Health Department, Carillion, Fusion, Old Isleworthians RFC, Harlequin Ladies RFC, Feltham RFC and Grasshoppers RFC.

Funding has been awarded to Grasshoppers and the Hounslow Rugby Development Group to roll out the legacy programme, which includes:
- Women and Girls (particularly BAME's) - to deliver a project that will link local schools with rugby clubs in order to increase the participation of girls rugby.
- The Gamechanger project - aimed at NEET's/those at risk of offending - to identify young people that are in contact with various services for multiple reasons and give them the opportunity to undertake a level two rugby coaching qualification.
- Children and young people - Hounslow Tag Rugby Festival 2015 - this festival runs every year and this year will extend the reach of the festival so that every single primary school in the borough (52) is engaged and receives free coaching in the build up to the festival.
- People with disabilities - the group wants to offer the opportunity for all to engage with rugby during the World Cup year and beyond and will allow us to form links with Great British Wheelchair Rugby and deliver Wheelchair rugby sessions in the borough.

The project will run from April 2015 - January 2016.
