17th October 2020

You are no doubt aware that, with London having been elevated to Tier 2 in the fight against COVID-19, significant new rules have been introduced which will affect the way we operate the clubhouse.

It is now currently illegal to socialise indoors with anybody who is not part of your household. The vast majority of people clearly go to the pub to meet with others so this is going to be a very difficult time in the clubhouse. Effectively the rules mean that indoors it will be one table one family which in effect will translate to one table for one or two individuals.

In the outside seating area, the "Rule of 6" still applies although we need to be realistic that, given the time of year, the weather will not always be our friend in relation to this.

In short the rules in the club as from Saturday 17th October are:

§  No socialising indoors with persons from outside your household

§  Table service only
§  You must register your contact details on entry to the clubhouse for NHS track and trace purposes

§  Unless exempt, face coverings must be worn when not seated at a table.

§  Outside area, maximum tables of 6 (this can be mixed households)

Sundays mornings

Given the sheer volumes of people at the Club on Sunday mornings for Mini Rugby, Junior Rugby, Girls Rugby and Junior Netball, the Executive Committee have decided that, in line with what other clubs in the area are doing, the Clubhouse will be closed (with the exception of toilet access). The inside bar area and kitchen will open from 1 pm. It is felt that this is only realistic way to comply with the new indoor restrictions.

Please understand that these are the rules that have been imposed upon us and we are merely trying to work within them.

Many thanks in anticipation of your cooperation.

Please keep safe everyone.
