Thank you for a great NatWest RugbyForce 2015 day

Grasshoppers RFC took part in NatWest RugbyForce 2015 weekend on Saturday 26th June, a nationwide programme developed in partnership with the RFU, which aims to help community rugby clubs become stronger businesses.

An army of volunteers from across all sections of the club came together to help improve the club facilities by doing those DIY jobs that often get overlooked. This year, the changing rooms have been painted and the downstairs internal area had a good tidy up, but the main focus for the team of volunteers was to sand, paint and varnish the garden and bar furniture.

Paul Dunham, the newly appointed Chair of Junior Rugby was down with his family to contribute to the workload and said: "Itís great to come down to the club as a family and have the chance to support and contribute to the facilities. Itís easy for us as parents to forget how much work goes in to keeping the facilities to a good standard and provide a safe and secure playing environment for our children. I am particularly proud that a group of our U14 players spent the day volunteering as well, which shows what a strong spirit we have within the team and at the club.Ē

Gary Cunningham, Club Chairman, added: "NatWest RugbyForce is a great initiative and helps us bring all sections of the club together. As a community club we rely on our volunteers to help out and contribute to the running and upkeep of the club. Iím always impressed with the commitment our volunteers show and they have all worked so hard today, especially on such a hot day. This is the second year we have participated and everyone throughout the Club gets involved with the day and it has now become an annual club event.Ē

Thank you to all our volunteers from across all sections of the club who game down to volunteer throughout the day.
