Convincing win on the road

Ruislip U15s | 5 | 34 | Grasshoppers U15s |
On a wet and windy day in North West London, Hoppers took full advantage of a knock on by the home side to work through the phases and score in the corner through Toby Manikon after 2 minutes.
Following some tactical kicking and strong running in the wide channels, Hoppers were in again after 10 minutes, this time through Joe Mitchell who converted his score from out wide.
Play was balanced for a period, with strong running and committed defence counteracted by unforced errors and breakdown penalties for both sides. Eventually an overthrown lineout was pounced on by Anthony Blazewicz who powered over from close range for an unconverted score.
Ruislip replied immediately from the restart as the home team's centre reacted first to the bouncing ball and grubbered through to score in the corner.
Hoppers started the second half much like the first, with strong running from Jaime Bueno-Masia and Joe Mitchell providing good field position, before another mistake at the lineout saw a loose ball snaffled by Mohammad Mirzai for an unconverted score.
The away side took further control soon after. Following some good handling, the ball found its way to Anthony Blazewicz who rode several tackles to finish smartly under the posts. Joe Mitchell added the extras.
The try scorer saw yellow for a high tackle after the restart, and further infringements kept Hoppers camped in their own half, but after a strong defensive set and some more broken field running by the backs, they eventually worked their way into the Ruislip 22 and came away with another try, this time from Oscar Rubbathan-Lemesle who shrugged off a tired attempted tackle on his way to the line.
This proved to be the last score of a hard-fought game, sending the Hoppers home happy.
