Match Report: Belsize Park v Grasshoppers

Seniors: First XV: 12th January 2019

Belsize Park 63 7 Grasshoppers
Grasshoppers travelled to Northwest London to play top of the table, Belsize Park and for twenty-five minutes of it they looked the better side with their forwards on top at all phases. However, with pressure on the home sides line Gs gave up possession and the home side spun it wide exposing Gs defence and so they saw themselves 7-0 down but continued to pressurise through their forwards but the home side extended their lead by half time with another converted try and a penalty to make it 17-0. The third quarter of the game saw Gs improve their defence and were able to restrain the opposition backs to only three tries and two conversion but saw the score move onto 36-0 and added another converted try to make it 43-0 but Gs responded well as flanker, Jasper Rose slipped over for a try which stand-off, Ed Roberts converted to narrow the score to 43-7. The fourth quarter of the game saw Gs defence leek another three tries in open play and with a further conversion the scoreboard ended up at 63-7.
