Womens & Girls

Here come the girls!!

Here come the girls!!

We are hugely proud at Grasshoppers of our Girls Section. It has become the fastest growing section within the Club.

We are one of the focus clubs within the RFU Women and Girls Growth strategy combining with Wasps FC, Teddington RFC and Hammersmith & Fulham RFC to form the Middlesex Local Rugby Partnership.

Girls can start playing rugby in the Mini section from U7 up until U11.

At U13 the girls then move into the Girls section where they develop their skills in transition from TAG to Contact.

We also have U15 and U18 girls playing contact rugby.

Our objective is that every girl who joins Grasshoppers will have an enjoyable experience playing the game of rugby in a safe and secure environment. For those that want to progress, we encourage the player pathway into County and Divisional Rugby.

Training is held on Thursday evenings from 6:30pm to 8pm and Sunday mornings from 12 noon to 2pm.

If you would like to come down and get involved please call Leroy Arbouine via or call 07703 316 321.

All our coaches, managers and volunteers are CRB checked and our coaches have a minimum Rugby Ready/Level 1 coaching qualification as well as having referee experience. As part of our commitment to our young players, free physiotherapy is offered on Sunday mornings. The Club adheres to the RFU rules on Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults. All members of the Girls section abide by the Club's Code of Conduct.

Local Rugby Partnership (LRP)

Grasshoppers are part of the RFU Local Rugby Partnership programme and are committed to the following charter:

"The clubs of the Middlesex Local Rugby Partnership (Grasshoppers, Hammersmith and Fulham, Teddington Ladies and Wasps Ladies) agree to work together in partnership to develop rugby union for women and girls between 2014 and 2017. We will lead the way, share good practice and provide new and different opportunities for women and girls to take part in rugby union whether as a player, volunteer, coach or referee. We are committed to growing the game together, so that more people can play more locally and more often. We will work with the RFU and our local communities around us to achieve this."

We'd like to thank Sport England Inspired Facilities Fund for their funding and support with our new changing facilities.

Women's Rugby

Grasshoppers and St. Mary’s University Women’s Rugby are thrilled to announce a new partnership aimed at promoting women’s rugby, enhancing player development, and fostering a stronger rugby community in the Isleworth/Twickenham areas.

This strategic partnership marks a significant step forward in the support and growth of women’s rugby in the area. By combining resources, expertise, and enthusiasm, Grasshoppers and St. Mary’s aim to create a seamless pathway for players from university level rugby to club level competition, ensuring continued development and opportunities for female athletes.

The club is actively seeking sponsorship of the Grasshoppers Women’s Rugby team. The women will require a full new playing kit & are seeking a level 2 (minimum) coach. If you are keen to support this exciting initiative please contact Ella Dempster, President of StMary's University Women's Rugby, at womensrugby@grasshoppersrfc.com.
