A special moment in our history, a Grasshoppers Women’s team take to the field in an official RFU League.

This was our first match of the season; we had 15 players no subs and we were playing an experienced Ealing team.

The first 10 minutes was tough, our girls we’re nervous and made a number of handling mistakes, but we stuck to our task and the first try calmed our nerves.

I’m not going to name any individual names this was a total team effort, we ran in a number of well executed try’s and our defence held strong whenever Ealing made a counter attack.

We have areas to work on, but this team shows great potential and will get stronger as we eliminate mistakes.

We thank our supporters including Rohan first team captain, Tracy club manager and Bavey from the Exec for enthusiastically cheering from the sidelines and now look forward to our next home game on 19th October against Barnes.

One other important point to highlight is this squad had 7 players who were originally minis/juniors at the club and I’m proud to be associated with this bunch of players.
