Great Donation from World Rugby to GRFC
30th September 2025

Leroy With Mike
Following a call Mike Reilly picked up a cool box from Twickenham this week. The top of the range "Ninja Cool Box” was used during the Women’s Rugby World Cup and is a donation to us…big thanks to World Rugby the organisers of the World Cup.
It seems appropriate that this is primarily used by our newly formed senior women’s team who recently beat Ealing’s Trailfinders in a league game 65-7 in their first ever outing!
Leroy Arbouine launched girls rugby at Grasshoppers back in 2010. We’ve had squads from juniors up to U18s but not a senior women’s team and have lost senior players to numerous clubs…a number have represented England at U18s, U21s, and England 7s! Our new senior team has been training for the last 3 months and is still in an early formative stage and is looking for more new players (hopefully now more additions from our partnership with St Mary’s University).
After the Ealing victory Leroy commented:"It’s pretty surreal to be honest. I knew they had it in them, but to actually get here and get the job done is just a different level and I’m just so proud of them. The whole thing about this group is that I want them to thrive and play an attacking style of rugby that they are excited to play. The group that we have got together is special and I’m looking forward to a great first season for Grasshoppers Women.”
Mike presented the cool box to the squad at training on Thursday and noted:" The launch of this Senior Ladies Squad is a true moment in the history of Grasshoppers RFC. We all look forward to supporting them in the years to come. They undoubtedly can be a highly successful team now and into the future.”
Their next game (league) is at home on Sunday October 19th ko 2.00pm
