Message from the new Club Chairman

Hi all

It is a real honour to become the Chairman of Grasshoppers. My first game for the club was (whisper it) in 1978, and I’ve been privileged over the years to skipper the club, been Head Coach, and led with Gary the negotiations to move to our magnificent clubhouse and grounds in Syon Lane.

We clearly have a lot of work to do...not least overcoming the issues of "covid lockdown.” There are particular sections of the club that will need extra care, attention and support going forward...but with the right positive attitude, determination, and "Grasshoppers Grit” we shall succeed.

Hopefully my 40+ years Grasshoppers knowledge and business experience (including being Chairman and CEO of a national Great Britain Paralympic Sport) will be of some benefit. However, as always we do rely and depend on our brilliant volunteers to ensure all facets of the club are working as effectively as possible. This is an area I am already looking into and will be asking for specific help going forward...watch this space!

I will arrange to meet with the representatives from the various sections of the club over the next few weeks. I look forward to working with the Executive Committee and key staff members...have already started one to one meetings with them all...no point in hanging around!

 Anyway all for now.

 Cheers.

 Mike Reilly

Ps Thanks for all your kind messages of support today...much appreciated.
