“A Game of Two Halves but Grasshoppers Prevail”

Seniors: Second XV: 21st March 2026

Grasshoppers II 38 32 Twickenham II

Grasshoppers welcomed Twickenham 2nd XV to "The Lane” for a must win game if G’s wanted to cement a slot in the play-offs. G’s got off to a flying start with three tries from George Stanton, Dexter Stanton and Chibueze (Harry), with to conversions from skipper

Tom Sherwin to give them a 19-0 lead. Twickenham then hit back with two unconverted tries to narrow the lead to 19-10.

Another try from Harry converted by Tom Sherwin put G’s back in control at 26-10 before Twickenham scoring a converted try to narrow the gap and make the half time score a very nervy 26-17.

The second half got off to a terrible start for G’s due to a lack of discipline giving Twickenham the territory to score twice to take the lead at 26-27. G’s though, dug deep knowing a loss would push them out of the play-offs and hit back with two more tries from Colts, Corey Emanuuel Wilkins and Alfie Swain Vella with the latter converting one of them to retake the lead at 38-27.

G’s will now have to wait for remaining merit table fixtures to be completed to see who they will play in the semi-finals of the play-offs.
