“Great Win for Hoppers at Marlow”

Seniors: First XV: 24th January 2026

Marlow 10 14 Grasshoppers

Grasshoppers travelled to Marlow, Bucks hoping to make it two wins in a row on this rearranged came from 10th January and galvonise their position above the relegation mix.

So G’s kicked off on a bright afternoon and had a great start camping in Marlow’s 22 and were eventually rewarded with a try from captain and scrum half, Rohan love after a push-over from a lineout. And with the conversion added by stand-off, Conor Gilmore it was 0-7.

This seemed to spark Marlow into action as they drew level on 7-7 with a converted try of their own with a move started within their 22. Marlow continued to press as their confidence and took the lead 10-7 after converting a penalty.

G’s came back though, and retook the lead 10-14 thanks to a second try from Rohan Love just before half time converted by Charlie Lecuyer.

Whilst there were no scores in the second half both sides threw everything at their opponents with both sides defence holding up. Excellent work from the whole team, but specifically Joe Whittaker, Manix Taylor allowed G’s to achieve their goal of two consecutive wins.

Next week G’s are at home to Beaconsfield 2pm ko.
